Collections Manager Jobs
A Collections Manager in the banking industry is responsible for overseeing the collection of debt owed by customers. This primarily involves managing a team of collections agents, setting collection goals, creating and implementing strategic plans to achieve these goals, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. They also liaise with other departments, such as customer service and legal departments, to resolve issues related to delinquent accounts. Other responsibilities may include creating and monitoring budgets, generating reports on collection activities, and training staff.
Collections Managers must possess strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. They should also be proficient in various collections software and have a thorough understanding of collection laws and regulations. In terms of certification, while not always required, a Certified Credit Executive (CCE) or Certified Receivables Compliance Professional (CRCP) certification can enhance credibility and employability. Prior positions that could lead to a role as a Collections Manager include Collections Agent, Collections Supervisor, or Credit Analyst.
