The Business Development Officer will proactively develop effective strategies to manage relationships, both existing and new, by anticipating customer needs and providing superior quality services resulting in increased wallet share. The Business Development Officer is a sales partner with the lending team and is expected to acquire, retain, and expand relationships with current and potential customers. Business Development Officer will be responsible for establishing a strong, visible profile.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sell banking products and services to customers/prospects through profiling and analyzing customer needs and recommending appropriate products. Actively solicit and refer new loan and deposit accounts
- Retain and continue to develop customer relationships by providing a consistent quality level of service that is timely, thorough, and responsive to all customers
- Direct, develop and actively participate in the bank’s Business Development program by contacting existing customers, prospective customers, and various community organizations, ensuring its continued good standing and growth in the community
- Lead, inspire, and motivate lending team during Business Development meetings
- Is a proactive salesperson who contributes to the profitability and growth of the bank, the development and retention of customer relationships and the profitable growth of the loan portfolio
- Reinforce bank/customer relationship through analyzing existing customer’s and prospect’s needs and recommend the appropriate products/services utilizing a defined process both in person and on the telephone. Greet, engage, and actively profile customers, present solutions and follow-up on recommendations
- Participate in community and civic functions, either in an advisory or active capacity, representing the Bank, with emphasis on maintaining and developing business relationships
- Support and actively participate in the bank’s High Performance Banking program
- Employees are required to actively use the service pledge in all customer encounters
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date
- Regular and predictable attendance to accomplish job duties and provide in-person contact with customers

About YouQUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field
- 10 years related commercial lending experience in Banking and Business Development
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:
- Must maintain professional image always representing First Security Bank positively in community and industry affairs
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
