This position will be hired on a SuccessFlex basis.

The hired associate must reside within 35 miles of the following location:

Columbus: One Nationwide Plaza, Columbus OH, 43215

Work schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote.

This role does not qualify for employer sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program.

The Portfolio Analyst is responsible for supporting an asset class or client portfolio. Responsibilities include the following: development and ongoing generation of reports, data management and governance, performance measurement/attribution, benchmark modeling/analytics, and portfolio development. As part of the Nationwide Investments Team, this individual may also have an opportunity to work across other asset classes or portfolios.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage portfolio analytics / reporting across assigned portfolio(s)

  • Drive development of target portfolios that that are aligned with the broader portfolio strategy, as well as, specific client objectives and constraints

  • Support execution of the investment process, including investment strategy development, portfolio construction, portfolio optimization, position sizing and monitoring, risk evaluation, problem credit management, benchmark development, and performance attribution

  • Work closely with other portfolio analysts and portfolio managers in the development and on-going reporting of reports

  • Collaborate with Research, Trading, and Portfolio Management to pro-actively generate company and sector specific relative value investment ideas and recommendations

  • Support processes to ensure regular and proactive communication within the team and with other Nationwide Investments' groups

  • Represent the team in various forums within Investments and work collaboratively with other groups to advance our clients' best interests.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of credit investment process

  • Perform ad-hoc projects, reporting and analysis as requested

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Investment Professional or Senior Investment Professional

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate degree; advanced degree and/or CFA desirable.

Experience: 3-7 years of investment and/or data management experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • Analytical capabilities, problem solving, critical thinking, and effective communication. Nationwide Investments emphasizes a team-oriented approach, which will require the analyst to demonstrate these attributes on both and individual and group level.

  • Extensive quantitative and programming skills with experience with Excel, Bloomberg, Tableau, Power BI, Python, and similar programs.

  • Creative, organized, responsive, process/detail oriented.
