Purpose and Job Summary

This position is primarily responsible for the coordination, administration, and payment of Real Estate Taxes for all loans where the employer has an interest.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Procure, process and pay/cause to be paid all related tax bills prior to their due date, avoiding any and all penalty and interest for which the employer holds escrow.
  • Monitor and obtain proof of payment on all tax payments relating to the collateral made by the Borrower for loans not holding a tax escrow.
  • Assist team with property legal descriptions review to ensure all parcels relating to collateral are being accurately tracked in servicing system.
  • Field minor disbursement questions as they arise and assist with setting monthly escrow collection based on your assessment calculations.
  • Work with Borrowers to address and collect tax escrow shortages.
  • Efficiently use Word and Excel for daily typing of correspondence, documents/forms, presentations, spreadsheets, proposals, and other transaction-related projects.
  • Utilize the McCracken STRATEGY Servicing System and other software applications in order to facilitate tax reviews. Accurately update tax records in Strategy; i.e., taxing authority vendor records, and tax trailers, and produce timely reports reflecting the status of processing effort. Set up new or converted loan files and migrate pertinent information to tax and correspondence files by performing all necessary filing activities promptly and accurately.
  • Assist with Quality Assurance review of tax closing files under the supervision of the Senior Associate
  • Participate in internal and external quality control and audit assessments, providing prompt and accurate responses to inquiries made, as well as taking immediate action to correct or resolve issues as they are made known.
  • Cross-train in all areas of the department as time permits, department needs dictate, and with the managers approval.
  • Ensure that proper notification, communication, and coordination occur with the manager in the performance of job duties.
  • Perform all other tasks as may be assigned by the manager.

Education, Skills & Experience

Required

  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent work experience, with a focus on real estate taxation encouraged.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, adjust to varied workloads, handle multiple tasks, and determine priorities
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Products (excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
