Job Description:
- Loan File Management & Preparation
- Collect, review, and organize documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy prior to underwriting submission
- Prepare loan files in accordance with internal policies and underwriting guidelines
- Identify and resolve documentation gaps, inconsistencies, or errors
- Underwriting Support
- Review underwriting conditions and coordinate with relevant parties to obtain required documentation
- Support underwriter by maintaining clean, well-documented files and responding to follow-up requests
- Third-Party Coordination
- Order and track third-party services (i.e., appraisals, credit reports, judgement and lien searches, UCCs)
- Ensure all external documentation is received, reviewed, and uploaded in a timely manner
- Pipeline & Workflow Management
- Maintain an organized pipeline of active loan files, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Proactively follow up on outstanding items to prevent delays
- Communicate status updates to stakeholders and escalate risks or delays, as necessary
- Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure loan files meet internal standards, bank requirements, and audit readiness
- Maintain accurate and complete records
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in loan processing, underwriting support, banking, or financial services
- Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Working knowledge of loan documentation and underwriting processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and document management
- Experience working with invoices, reconciliations, and billing processes
- Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
