Our client is looking for a Finance Manager - Funds for a 21-month contract opportunity.

Manage all aspects of administration and reporting for on the clients fund. In this role, the Manager, Finance will be required to work closely with the Director Fund Administration & Reporting, the other Managers of Finance, Controller, Director of Tax, CFO, and the investment professional group in order to fulfill this mandate. The Manager, Finance is in part supported by a Senior Corporate Accountant as well as the Finance Executive Assistant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Manager, Finances broad accountability will be to ensure that all financial data is accurate, complete, and conforms the companys needs for reporting and administration for on of their Funds, (comprised of 3 parallel partnership vehicles and 1 feeder partnership vehicle).
  1. Fund Administration
Overall responsibility for the administration of all aspects of the funds operations including the funds credit facility (i.e. draws, repayments, reporting) preparing all call and distribution notices and handling investor relations (i.e. dealing with limited partner inquires as required).
  1. Financial Reporting
Overall responsibility for timely and accurate reporting of all financial and management information related to the entities referred to above. The funds financial statements are prepared in accordance with Canadian accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE). More specifically, the role will be responsible for preparing the quarterly reporting package for the fund and feeder vehicles (including financial statements, notes, limited partner capital account statements, activity review/accounting issue memo and other analysis as required). Ensure the proper maintenance of all general ledgers and the chart of accounts and the timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions.
1. Valuation
Work with the Director Fund Administration & Reporting and investment teams as required in connection with the quarterly valuation of the funds investments in accordance with ASPE and the International Private Equity Valuation Guidelines.
2. Audit/Review Process
Plan and organize the annual audit of the 3 parallel partnerships including coordinating all matters necessary to complete the audits (i.e.. confirmations, working papers, etc.).
3. Income Tax and HST Compliance
Work with the Director of Tax to plan, organize and prepare all of the tax kits that are provided to our tax advisors. Review of all draft and final returns prepared by our tax advisors. Prepare supporting working papers for annual HST filings.
4. Planning
Prepare tax planning related forecasts as required.
5. Process
Assist with the development of policies, practices, and controls for the processing of all financial transactions and reporting.
6. Other
As required. Assist Director Fund Administration & Reporting with other projects, including reporting and administration for other funds.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • CPA designated
  • Experience with MS Office including advanced Excel
  • Experience with Investran
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to balance a broad variety of assignments and tasks to a high level of accuracy, timeliness and follow-through.
  • Acute attention to detail to ensure all processes are followed, and financial information is reported appropriately for all requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify where potential issues may exist, strong problem-solving skill, and a proactive approach to ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
  • Proven ability and willingness to be flexible and change priorities as required

Pay Rate
$55.00 / Hour
