Director of Finance - Multi-Company OperationsPosition Overview We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance to oversee the financial operations of multiple companies within our organization, including an aggregate trucking company, commodity hauling company, and equipment rental company. This leadership role will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, accounting oversight, and consolidated multi-company financial management. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience with QuickBooks Online, multi-entity accounting, and consolidated financial reporting. Experience within trucking, construction, aggregate, transportation, or heavy equipment industries is strongly preferred. ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & Strategy Oversee all financial operations across multiple companies and divisions Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections Provide financial insight and recommendations to ownership and leadership teams Monitor company financial performance and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency Assist with strategic planning, financing, and operational decision-making Accounting & Financial Management Manage general ledger activity, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and banking relationships Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards Maintain internal controls and financial procedures across all entities Coordinate with outside CPAs, auditors, lenders, and tax professionals Multi-Company & Consolidated Financial Reporting Prepare and manage consolidated financial statements across multiple operating companies Handle intercompany transactions, allocations, and reconciliations Maintain accurate reporting structures for multiple entities and divisions Analyze profitability by company, division, and operational segment Support ownership with financial reporting and performance analysis across all businesses QuickBooks Online Management Maintain and oversee all QuickBooks Online company files and accounting systems Develop and improve accounting workflows and reporting structures within QuickBooks Online Manage classes, divisions, locations, and custom reporting functions Ensure consistency and accuracy across all entities within QuickBooks Online Train and assist staff on accounting procedures and system processes as needed Compliance & Operational Support Assist with operational compliance related to trucking, equipment, and transportation industries Support audits, insurance reporting, tax filings, and lender reporting requirements Work closely with HR, operations, and management teams to improve financial efficiency Maintain confidentiality and professionalism with sensitive financial information QualificationsRequired Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Minimum 5+ years of accounting or finance leadership experience Extensive QuickBooks Online experience required Strong experience managing multiple companies and consolidated financial reporting Experience with trucking, aggregate, transportation, construction, agriculture, or equipment industries preferred but not required Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and cash flow management Experience working with outside auditors, CPAs, and financial institutions Skills & Abilities Strong leadership and organizational skills High attention to detail and analytical abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and companies simultaneously Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a leadership team Preferred Qualifications CPA designation is a plus but not required Experience with equipment costing, job costing, and operational reporting Experience with financing, lending relationships, and capital planning Familiarity with payroll systems and HR coordination
