Business Banking & Relationship Management:
- Develop, manage, and deepen relationships with a portfolio of small-to-midsize business clients (typically $100K-$25M in annual revenue).
- Conduct business needs analyses to identify and recommend appropriate banking products including business checking, savings, money market accounts, and merchant services.
- Onboard new business deposit clients, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with CIP/BSA/AML requirements.
- Cross-sell treasury management, remote deposit capture, ACH origination, along with other business solutions.
- Partner with retail branch staff to generate referrals and expand the business client base.
- Represent the credit union at community and business networking events to build brand awareness and prospect new clients.
- Assist with the origination of commercial loan requests including term loans, lines of credit, equipment financing, and owner-occupied real estate.
- Collect and analyze business and personal financial statements, tax returns, cash flow projections, and credit bureau reports.
- Serve as a point of contact between the applicant(s)/borrower(s) and the commercial lending department - Collaborate with other Commercial Lending personnel and the Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) to ensure timely decisioning and adherence to credit policy.
- Manage an active loan portfolio; monitor covenant compliance, renewal schedules, and early warning indicators of credit deterioration.
- Coordinate with accounting and other credit union teams to ensure smooth loan funding and proper collateral perfection.
- Maintain strict adherence to BSA/AML, CRA, Fair Lending, and all applicable federal/state banking regulations.
- Complete all required annual compliance training on schedule.
- Accurately maintain CRM data and activity logs for client interactions, pipeline, and closed business.
- Escalate fraud indicators, suspicious activity, and credit concerns through proper channels promptly.
Required:
- Bachelors degree in finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field; OR equivalent combination of education and banking experience.
- 2+ years of experience in business banking, commercial lending, or a related financial services role.
- Working knowledge of commercial credit underwriting principles and business financial statement analysis.
- Familiarity with business deposit products, treasury management services, and lending regulations (Reg B, Reg Z, Fair Lending, CIP).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and banking CRM platforms (NetSolutions, Ultracs, or similar).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex financial concepts clearly to business owners.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with treasury management product sales (ACH, positive pay, checking, money market accounts, sweep accounts, cash concentration, etc.).
- Active community involvement and existing network of local business contacts.
- Must successfully complete BSA training as required.
- Must be bondable (insurable)
- Base Salary: Commensurate with experience; reviewed annually
- Incentive Plan: Dual-track variable pay for deposit/treasury production and loan origination volume
- Development: Ongoing treasury management and credit training, professional certification support and potential career pathing
- New business deposit accounts opened and balances grown quarter-over-quarter.
- Optimization of client utilization of all credit union products and services.
- Treasury/cash management product sales per client.
- Timely processing of commercial credit requests.
- Client experience/satisfaction scores and relationship retention rate.
- CRM data quality and activity completion rates.
