Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • The Mortgage Closer, Team Lead is primarily responsible for providing leadership to team members in the closing and post closing department. Close loans for a pipeline of Loan Officers. Assure loans are closed in accordance to regulatory and investor guidelines. Track issues to determine if additional training is required or processes need to be changed. Run and monitor daily, weekly and monthly closing and post closing reports. Maintain close communication with customers, sales partners and Operations Manager to ensure proper and timely fulfillment. Responsible for participating in the achievement of corporate sales and service goals to build customer (external/internal) relationships and enhance shareholder value.
  • Provides leadership to the Closing and Post Closing Departments.
  • Monitor compliance of the closers and post closer to investor and government requirements and oversee daily workflow.
  • Responsible for sending closing instructions and reviewing HUD-1 Settlement statements to assure adherence to Regulatory and Investor guidelines.
  • Assure loans are closed and shipped in a timely manner by monitoring reporting systems.
  • Verify underwriting and funding conditions are signed off on underwriting approval.
  • Obtain essential documentation to prepare closing documents and disbursement of funds.
  • Scrutinize pend notifications from investors to determine there are track records of errors or issues that need to be addressed.
  • Trains/mentors, may have informal supervisory responsibilities (not including hire/terminate staff).
  • Acts as a formal resource to colleagues.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job

  • 5-8 years related experience
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
