Ohio Department of Public Safety - Director's Office/Information Technology (Project Management & Governance)

Work hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm
THIS POSITION IS FOR OHIO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY EMPLOYEES ONLY.
Within the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS), Information Technology (IT) Office:
- Creates & coordinates technical documentation preparation & distribution for processes, projects & procedures; Works with business users & technical staff to develop strategies & lead the modification or creation of new systems for implementation of information technology solutions; Documents key business processes & create &/or edits technical documentation including information technology process flows & flowcharts;
- Provides subject matter expertise on assigned IT systems & related processes for each ODPS Division/Business unit; Works with the assigned Division/Business Unit to bridge functional & technical gaps between the Division/Business Unit & IT;
- Identifies documents & analyzes business requirements for implementation of information technology solutions; Facilitates requirement gathering sessions, the approach, & the breakdown of business problems into units of work;
- Analyzes, reviews & recommends possible solutions to identified business problems through technical solutions; Performs validation of solutions by analyzing the end product & the requirements specifications;
- Serves as liaison between various stakeholders & manages stakeholder expectations while ensuring successful communications between project team members;
- Manages risks & changes related to processes, projects & procedures; Assist in developing project task plans, leading meetings & other related tasks to gather & coordinate activities for requirements gathering;
- Implements agile methodology practice within the project team & facilitating agile/scrum ceremonies; Maintains project documentation in collaboration tools such as Microsoft Azure Dev Ops or JIRA etc.
- Work with business owners to identify & create key project deliverables for technical statements of work (SOW) & business cases; Provide key input into the Request for Quote process;
- Answer questions & present mentorship opportunities to peers &/or lower-level staff;
- Perform related duties as assigned (e.g., attend staff meetings, conferences & training; compile & generate narrative & statistical reports &/or presentations; maintain logs & files; respond to inquiries from citizens, federal & state legislators, client advocacy groups & other interested parties).
60 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: creating and coordinating technical and business requirements for processes, projects and procedures, working with business users and technical staff to develop strategies and leading modification or creation of new systems for implementation of information technology solutions.
- Or completion of associate core program in computer science, information systems, or business administration; 42 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: creating and coordinating technical and business requirements for processes, projects and procedures, working with business users and technical staff to develop strategies and leading modification or creation of new systems for implementation of information technology solutions.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science, information systems, or business administration; 36 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: creating and coordinating technical and business requirements for processes, projects and procedures, working with business users and technical staff to develop strategies and leading modification or creation of new systems for implementation of information technology solutions.
- Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
