This is a hybrid role based out of our Columbus, OH office. The team comes into the office three days a week.

The Alternatives Operations - Senior Investment Analyst role is responsible for operational processes supporting investment portfolios managed by Nationwide Investments. The position is responsible for performing and reviewing a variety of complex operational functions with a focus on daily transaction processing, deal funding and distributions, capital calls, partnership statements, and valuations for the Alternative portfolios.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with front office, operational and controllership teams to support various complex operational processes in order to ensure timely, accurate and efficient flow of alternative trades and transactions.

  • Support and/or lead operational projects, process improvement opportunities, and application upgrade testing. Partner with Investments Technology on supporting tactical projects.

  • Supports the communication between the assigned team(s) and other working groups within Nationwide Investments.

  • Assists with the processing of new transactions and reports, as assigned, to ensure data quality for systems and subsequent downstream accounting and management reporting.

  • Processes core transactions in Front/Middle Office systems as well as accounting systems.

  • Works with the Data Management and Reporting team on assigned reporting tasks, as well as supports the completion and maintenance of critical reporting.

  • Assists with the preparation of system reconciliations and maintenance of proper documentation.

  • Works closely with Back-Office Operations and Investment Controllership counterparts to ensure proper coordination between areas.

  • Recommends changes to enhance, build or improve existing controls and procedures using Continuous Improvement methods.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Alternatives Operations - Investment Professional or Senior Investment Professional

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or an equivalent field.

Experience: 4 to 7 years of experience in Investment Operations, Business Intelligence Reporting, Investment Accounting, or Financial Service industries

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • Distill data and information in a meaningful way

  • Intermediate understanding of Alternative Investments

  • Ability to navigate and understand differing software packages including advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Intermediate understanding of data and data flow

  • Conceptual understanding of end-to-end investments process flows

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
