The VP, Senior Private Banking Relationship Manager is responsible for establishing and growing a portfolio of high net worth members within Tech CU's emerging markets who have met Private Banking program qualifying tiers. These emerging markets include Southern California, Idaho and Texas. This incumbent is responsible for maximizing client engagement and portfolio profitability by assessing financial needs, identifying and recommending suitable consumer and commercial products and services, and by providing personalized financial management solutions. With an expectation of increasing both Private Banking market share and wallet share, the VP, Senior Private Banking Relationship Manager executes both external and internal relationship sales strategies to effectively identify and gain external program eligible clients and identify and gain internal program eligible members within assigned markets. Responsibilities Essential Duties Grows and manages a book of business, including complex memberships with both commercial and private accounts. Actively attends and hosts business development meetings and seminars for members and prospects. Generates commercial loan and deposit business opportunities to support division growth goals utilizing business network and industry contacts. Partners with employees in other divisions to close on significant new commercial lending opportunities. Contributes to Wealth Management division goals and priorities. Acts as the main point of contact for assigned high net worth clients for Technology Credit Union's (Tech CU) Wealth Management division. Effectively influences branch partners to understand all facets of Private Banking and Wealth Management. Engages with assigned branches to provide cross referrals, attend team meetings and provide consultative coaching on an on-going basis. Acquires profitable client relationships with high income/net worth clients of Wealth Management using proactive business development techniques. Identifies and ensures client needs are met by recommending and supporting the execution of appropriate Tech CU private banking and commercial products and services, including working with client's tax, legal, and estate planning professionals. Expands client portfolio through referrals to Financial Advisors, Commercial Banking and Mortgage Loan Originators. Follows-up with clients to ensure all banking services that have been provided exceed expectations. Expands and builds relationships with clients within target markets. Provides clients a high level of consultative financial advice by using the full range of banking products and services designed for the affluent/high-end private customer needs. Ensures documentation is up to date and complete. Maintains excellent and effective client relationships. Maintains required license(s) and updates as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintains the confidentiality of all customer and bank relationships. Uses good communication skills including speaking clearly, succinctly, and accurately while using a pleasant tone and common conversational courtesies. Works closely with Member Contact Center, Central Operations and Commercial Banking partners to deliver an integrated Tech CU experience for the member. Participates in on-sites and attends professional/business networking activities. Develops center of influence contacts with community professionals. Participates in internal and external professional training programs to refine skills and knowledge. Qualifications Education: BS/BA Degree in Business/Finance/Economics or equivalent experience in a financial institution. Advanced degree and/or designations are a plus. Experience: 10+ years' experience in a financial institution, with a minimum of 5 years' experience providing private banking and/or commercial banking (deposit and loan) products to clients, with a consistent track record of exceeding performance measurements. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: In-depth knowledge of the analysis and processing of business loans, including: financial analysis, balance sheet ratios and documentation. Solid working knowledge of bank operations, business and financial products and banking/credit union regulations. Solid negotiation skills and consultative sales abilities. Proficient knowledge of personal and business financial statements and tax returns. Financial acumen as it pertains to the affluent market segment. Detail and goal oriented. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent ability to speak effectively in a group setting. Excellent ability to present complex financial analysis to senior management. Excellent ability to work collaboratively as a team member. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel. Familiarity with consumer and commercial loan documents/regulations for multi-state lending is a plus. Licensing: Upon employment, must enroll and maintain registration with Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) under Tech CU's company registration. Notary Public preferred (to be acquired within 12 months of hire if the employee does not have one at the time of hire). Travel: Required to travel to other locations within Tech CU's field-of-membership. Required to have branch assigned days, attend offsite meetings or events, including some overnight travel, typically with advance notice. May be required to travel to business member locations and/or collateral sites. Typical Working Conditions: Office environment with interaction with a variety of internal and external parties. May work remotely as determined by business need and individual performance. Equipment Used: Routinely uses standard office equipment, including computer, phone, copier and other devices. Pay and Benefits This is a grade 108 position, with a salary range from $127,200 to $184,800 with bonus potential of 15%. The anticipated range for new hires is between the low-end and midpoint of the range, depending on experience. Tech CU is a pay-for performance organization that benchmarks base pay to the 50th percentile of our market and we provide incentive-based compensation aligned with successful accomplishment of individual and corporate goals. The salary mentioned above is based on working in San Jose, CA. Salaries are based on the geographic location in which you live if working remotely. Additionally, Tech CU provides health care benefits, life and disability insurance, 12 paid holidays and 401k with a company match; along with employee paid voluntary benefits. 7.08 Paid Time Off (PTO) hours accrue per bi-weekly paycheck (23 days per year) and will increase with length of service. Eight hours of Voluntary Time Off (VTO) are granted to full time employees annually to dedicate time to charitable organizations. Leaves of absences are available in adherence with state and federal regulations.
